India Today Group wins big at ENBA awards

The India Today Group won a total of 48 awards, of which 24 went to India Today TV, 20 to Aaj Tak, two to The Lallantop and one each to News Tak and Aaj Tak HD.

The India Today Group boasts of a legacy of four and a half decades having won numerous awards. The Group has once again won big at the ENBA awards, a testament to India Today Group’s Gold Standard of Journalism.

The India Today Group won a total of 48 awards, of which 24 went to India Today TV, 20 to Aaj Tak, two to The Lallantop and one each to News Tak and Aaj Tak HD.

The driving force behind India Today Group’s continued dominance over the news media space remains the reporting, editorial and production staff adhering to the highest standards of journalism.

The year 2019 was an election year and nothing is grander than this festival of democracy; a biggest challenge for a news organisation to cover its myriad hues.

But as always, the India Today Group was up to the challenge and with its experience, innovation and in-depth coverage, the various channels of the Group gave the viewers a blow-by-blow account of the elections.

India Today Group’s flagship channels — India Today and Aaj Tak — were adjudged the best in the business.

Best News Channels: Aaj Tak and India Today were amongst the most viewed channels for every imperative event of the year. The Group took home the Best News Channel awards for Aaj Tak in Hindi and for India Today TV in English.

News Director of the Year Award: India Today has always taken pride in its leadership, and the fact that Supriya Prasad won the Editor-in-Chief of The Year award for Aaj Tak only proves that the reliable and hard-working Group continues to grow fast and big under his guidance.

Best Anchors: Anjana Om Kashyap and Rohit Sardana bagged awards for Best Anchor Hindi and Saurabh Dwivedi of TheLallantop.com won the award for Best Anchor on Digital News Channel.

Lifetime Achievement Award: One of India’s seniormost journalists Rajdeep Sardesai brought back home the much-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award. He highlighted that the journalism of credibility should always remain the badge of honour for all journalists.

Best Digital Channel: The Lallantop and News Tak also won the awards for the Best Digital Media News Channel for their commendable work through 2019.

Sharing her thoughts on winning the prestigious awards at the ENBA 2019, Kalli Purie, Vice-Chairperson of the India Today Group, said, “It is always motivating when hard work is recognised and honoured. But, to win big on a big stage and for an election year, that’s ace. For both channels to win the top honour is significant and it shows the bilingual thinking, sensibility and unrivalled journalistic strength of our network.”
