Maharashtra’s Covid-19 Tally Breaches 90,000-Mark With 2,259 New Cases; Death Toll Climbs To 3,289

These numbers are expected to spike further as the Central and state governments have eased a lot of restrictions under the Unlock-1 or the fifth phase lockdown.

Mumbai: Maharashtra has crossed the 90 thousand-mark for Covid-19 cases as the state recorded 2,259 new cases on Tuesday, pushing the tally to 90,787. On Monday, the state had recorded 2,553 new cases.

The state health department reported that the total number of active cases in the state is now 44,849. As far as the fatalities are concerned, the state witnessed 120 deaths today. With this, the death tally has raced to 3,289 while 42,638 have been recovered and discharged from hospitals.

State capital Mumbai also registered spike in corona cases on Tuesday. Municipal Corporation Greater Mumbai reported that the financial capital recorded at least 58 COVID-deaths and 1,015 new Corona positive patients.
